The difference between a house and a home is that a house is a structure you live in that provides your safety and basic needs. While a home is a place that you look forward to being in to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world outside. Make your house a more enjoyable and comforting place not only to you, but also to everyone else who walks through its doors with these tips.

1. Balancing the straight lines

Most modern upholstery and structures –such as most workplaces-- nowadays consists of a lot of corners and straight lines. It does help make your house look more tidy and sophisticated but little curves here and there such as round rugs, pillows, and round-edge tables help balance out the look. Giving out that friendly, relaxing vibe.

2.    Be bold with color and design

Use your empty wall to speak volumes. You can try putting up a beautiful, huge painting, or a series of picture frames that tell a story, some colorful lighting or paint it a different bright color from the rest of the walls in the house. Not only this can catch your guests’ attention, it can also get people to know about your personality more.

3.    It’s never a bad idea to have a lot of plants—and flowers

Not only will this help produce more oxygen and provide fresher air for you and your family, it can also bring a lot of life to your space. Plants have different kinds of magic. Some can relieve stress and anxiety like aloe vera and lavenders and some can also absorb radiation such as snake plants and spider plants.

4.    Put up some details

Details are always important. Make your home feel like what you are. If you like going to beaches, it’s not bad to put up some small pots with sand inside and top it along with some shells you’ve picked up from your last trip. Remember, the details that a person put up on their houses say what they are.

5.    Make it memorable with good smells occupying the air

How a house smells will leave an impression on your visitors. Get some candles, plants or air fresheners to keep your house free from bad odors.
