One who decides to buy a condo unit needs enough planning in choosing not only the condominium itself but even the location of the unit. There are different factors to consider and options to weigh to get the best one possible.

Factors to Consider

Factors to consider in choosing the right floor in buying a condo unit include:

  • Sceneries
If you desire to have the best view of your surroundings, then you can pick the highest floor.
  • Affordability
Prices of condo units may vary depending on the floor level of the unit. Choose based on what you prefer and are capable of paying.
  • Better Access
Persons with disability and those who have difficulty in using the stairs can choose units on lower floors.

Floor Level: Advantages

  • Lowest Floor
Choosing the first floor allows residents to go in and out of the unit quickly. It is appropriate for the elderly, children, persons with disability, etc. It can prevent accidents from using stairs and elevators.
  • Middle Floor
Living in the middle floor prevents the extremes of the highest and lowest ones. Use of stairs and noise from busy streets are tolerable in this floor level.
  • Highest Floor
Advantages of the highest floor level include greater access to views, less noise from busy streets and residents staying at floors above, and less chance of being robbed.

Floor Level: Disadvantages

  • Lowest Floor
Living in the lowest floor may pose an increased risk from theft due to easier access and might need increase tolerance from noise pollution.
  • Middle Floor
For those living in the middle floor, there is increased exposure to noise and activities of residents living both in upper and lower floors.
  • Highest Floor
Staying in the most upper floor may take more time to get away from the building in cases of emergencies such as fire and earthquakes. It is the same case during the daily routine of attending school or work, and it is also harder to bring groceries and other stuff towards the unit, etc.

Wrapping-Up

For you to have a more comfortable stay in a condominium, it is best to choose the most appropriate floor level. Buying a condo unit requires a lot of resources thus making it one of your most significant investment.
